Our Story

Builders America is comprised of individuals who hold the highest certifications in the industry. From a code certified building inspector to licensed residential contractors, we can handle anything that comes our way during a project.  With decades of experience in the industry, the Builders America team is ready to exceed your expectations.

Lyle Harp

President and Director of Operations

Lyle Harp began his construction experience at 4 years old “helping” his dad build an enclosed porch on the family home.  A few years later, a new house was in the works.  Lyle gained vast experience and valuable problem-solving skills from his father who tackled every project with a meticulous attention to detail and a goal of perfection in everything.  After 15 years in Information Technology, Lyle retuned to his construction roots and launched his own company focusing on remodeling and construction of timber frame homes.

Lyle is a state licensed residential contractor and has completed over 300 projects including new homes, decks, gazebos, basements, kitchens, bathrooms, additions, and whole-house renovations.  Lyle is a co-owner and the President of Operations for Builders America, Inc.

When not managing construction projects, Lyle is active with the Cherokee County Fire Department as a volunteer firefighter, paramedic, and public safety diver.

Stan Garnet

Stan Garnet is a code certified building inspector who has been inspecting residential and commercial properties for close to 20 years and his specialty is decks.  Understanding how a deck is built and the stages of decay that a deck goes through while it ages is part of Stans' forensic evaluation of existing decks that he inspects.  This knowledge along with the deck building codes provide him with the understanding of how to build decks right.  Deck Builders America is also an educator to other inspectors, independent and municipal inspectors and contractors.  He educates about the anatomy of deck construction, teaches  deck building codes and the proper techniques of how to build a safe deck.  Stan's motto, "The house can fall but the deck is not going anywhere if it is built by Deck Builders America".

Marla Ramaglia
